healing therapies

All of our techniques are used for full-body solutions, no matter the symptoms experienced. Each therapeutic technique can be used for a specific area, but each is chosen for its specific health effect. Therapeutic Massage and Shiatsu compliment the body’s own systemic processes.

Therapeutic Massage - Relief for stress, muscles and joints
Massage, as we know, is a hands-on approach to source the tensions, blockages and minor injuries that are resident in most of us. Therapeutics, on the other hand, are the techniques used to assist recovery and speed up the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

With therapeutic massage, we move over structure and muscle to determine responses to pressure stimulus, and we correct irregularities with various methods, including: light or deep tissue massage, hydrotherapy, rehabilitative exercises and musculoskeletal stretching. We also specialize in pregnancy massage.

Sports Massage - Prevention and therapy for injuries associated with strained or exerted muscles
Sports massage therapy is most effectively used as a preventative tool with athletes and marathon participants.  Sports massage balances the body’s functions and energy for optimal efficiency and prevention of injury. Post-injury, we apply sports massage to speed healing and restore mobility.

Shiatsu - deep, therapeutic stimulus for optimum health, function, and
well being
Created in Japan from the understanding that illness comes from an invasion of external factors and internal or emotional disharmonies, Shiatsu is practiced to restore balance and prevent or heal illness by stimulating the immune system and natural healing power present in the body. A focussed practitioner is sensitive to the energy distributions of the body, and provides an extra dimension of connection and support, using both hands where one listens and the other heals. Treating the body as a whole helps to restore the physical functions of the nervous and circulatory systems, bone structure, muscles and internal secretions, and encourages the mind and body to find harmony.
